The Xtreme Impact "Catch the Fire, Blaze the Nation" all night prayer
meeting, was held at Christian Life Fellowship in Kingston, Jamaica with an
average of seventy three persons in attendance. Youth from several churches
came together in a time of dynamic worship, praise and intense prayer
seeking after God. In this time of fellowship, there was a great desire and
need to be real with God. The youth earnestly seeked to present themselves
to God just as they were, asking him to deal with the issues they struggled
with and for them to be completely surrendered to him. It was a personal and
uplifting time for all.The highlight of the prayer meeting was the live contact established over
the phone with members of the Bajan and Jamaican divisions of Xtreme Impact.
Contact was made at 11:05pm by Pastor Bruce Fletcher of Jamaica and Marcia
of Barbados. After a humorous and warm exchange of greetings by the Bajan
and Jamaican ambassadors and members of Xtreme Impact, requests for prayer
were made. Requests for prayer were similar between both divisions, as
requests were made for: an increase in the passion for God, for the
outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the lives of all the youth throughout the
nation and in the upcoming events and finally for an increased hunger and
thirst for the will of God to impact our nations. Carissa Delisser of
Jamaica and Ramel of Barbados were asked to pray on the behalf of their
respective nations for the youth of each others country. In her opening prayer, Carissa gave thanks to God for the time of fellowship
between the Bajan and Jamaican youth. She prayed for an increased zeal in
the youth of Barbados and that they would not grow weary in doing good, in
advancing the kingdom of God. She prayed for the direction of the Holy
Spirit, so that both nations would be able know what God requires and to
enable us to walk with him daily. She prayed for the Bajan youth that God
would anoint them to do his will and to use them in ways they never imagined
through the gifts of the Holy Spirit. She proceeded to pray also that by the
power of the Holy Spirit, that the Bajan youth would be consistent effective
witnesses for the kingdom of God. In closing, she prayed for unity among the
Bajan youth in the body of Christ and that God would reveal himself to each
of them individually, corporately and on a national level.Ramel in his prayer for Jamaica, prayed that the youth of Jamaica would be
purified unto God and that the Holy Spirit would come and minister to the
specific needs of the youth and the nation. The need for endurance and to
press on towards the things of God consistently with an ever increasing
passion was heart felt. He prayed that this passion for God among the youth
would be used by God to set the nation ablaze and that leaders would be
raised up throughout Xtreme Impact. In closing he gave thanks to God for the
work he has started and would carry through to completion and that we would
all grow in unity, keeping a humble focus, not being discouraged. The time of contact ended with both the Bajan and Jamaican youth in Christ
Jesus encouraging each other in the Lord, in the hope that God would meet
with us and his will, would be accomplished.
