Pastor
Haughton of United Pentecostal Faith Church of God in Highlight
View opened the evening, thanking OSJ
for putting on the concert and encouraging everyone to have a good time and
saying that this would be just the start of what was to happen in the community.
He handed over to the MC, Richard DeLisser, who became ‘Ritchie D’
for the evening.
Bruce Clemetson and a team of young people from Christian Life Fellowship sang some songs (right) and this was followed by a time of worship songs and dance performed by the Upper Room church in the Grants Pen community (below).
A
further dance was performed by Praise Academy of
Dance (right).
This
was followed by Dwon & Team and then Mr Goddy Goddy
did a set, even getting his son to join him on stage to sing on one of the songs
(left).
Then
Les Isaac, our guest from the UK, spoke giving his
testimony and a challenge to the people of the community. He ended with a call
for all those who wanted to follow Jesus to come forward, and a large number
of people made their way from the safety of their homes on the hillside, down
to the area in front of the stage.
The climax of the entertainment was a set by Prodigal Son, which really stirred up the crowd. Prodigal was also keen to explain that the evening wasn't just about entertainment, but that he did everything for God's glory, even stating that if that was not the case, then he would give up his music.
